Background:
Born and raised in the slums of New York, Ron Huffman can look back to a childhood that has nothing to do with a happy place. He was introduced to illegal drugs at a very young age and soon became a dealer and an addict himself. A lifestyle that came back to haunt him in the end. Ultimately his body gave in when he was just in his mid-30's. He suffered two strokes already and would be long dead if it wasn't for the A.N.G.E.L.S. organisation. It was a young agent named Trish Wolfe wo found him and felt sorry for him. She made sure he received medical treatment. A.N.G.E.L.S. scientists offered him a second chance with a newly created and experimental serum, ment to repair the human body from injuries which wouldn't heal naturally. Huffman saw the light. He agreed to the experimental treatment and found the strength to go through with it in faith. The serum worked almost perfectly, indeed helping his messed up body to recover from the years of drug abuse. As somewhat of a side effect he also acchieved peek human abilities, like strength, speed, agility and reflexes. He also retained an extended awareness of his surroundings, coming from the use of mind-expanding drugs. However, there of course is a down side, too. Even though the serum works now, his body only has a 50/50 chance of full recovery and it's likely he still won't reach the age of 70 in the end. Not to mention it is questionable if he will still be able to live without daily shots. In addition he still has to wear a respirator 24/7. Huffman considers the fact that in order to heal the wounds of his sinful years he needed to become addicted to something yet again a sign of higher justice. The nickname "Preach" he received from his peers for his tendency to quote the bible and his rants against drug abuse. He sincerely wants to shield others, especially youngsters, from making the same mistakes he made in the past.
Preach is a man of faith and tends to talk a lot. While that more often than that irritates his teammates, they also know that they can always count on him. Preach is the most trustworthy man on the team. He works for A.N.G.E.L.S. in order to pay for his ongoing treatment.
